 | The Island called "AlwaysMoreBeyond" | Dec 18, 2006 |
Welcome! To the island called "AlwaysMoreBeyond". It is the island where Truth's flower wearing the colour of the Rose of Sharon blossoms with the fragrance of the Lily of the Valley. This is the island RS Thomas wrote about when he said, "I would still go there if only to await the once-in-a-lifetime opening of truth's flower; if only to escape such bought freedom and live, prisoner of the keyless sea, on the mind's bread and water." Whenever and whatever I post, I am mindful of what Jane Kenyon said, " It is not with the lyre of someone in love that I go seducing people. The rattle of the leper is what sings in my hands." And here is my poem that I hold dear in my heart...it is entitled "NO ILL"... N O I L L This Everest Stone resting on my breast Bone, someone placed it there. And I know, God, you allowed it. Not to hear the broken reed Cry of my breath. Not that I may know your strength When suddenly you remove the weight. But that by this I may know You delight in me: my enemy Shall suffer no ill because Of my broken ribs This is what Aurora Antonovic, Canadian Poet Extraordinary, Artist, Editor of Poetry Journals and e-zines has to say about Kianseng Ng, "Continuing on our travels, we have Dr. Kianseng Ng, a physician by day, and dynamite poet and artisan by night. Dr. Ng couples his skilled poetry with some of the most intrinsic and inspiring batik I have ever seen. On Always More Beyond, topics such as mental illness, Parkinson’s Disease, and loneliness are touched upon with such insight and tenderness, that one realizes the duty and power of pure poetry" ," To read my poetry, please go to "Blog", to see my Paper Batik Paintings, Photographic Montages and Cut & Paste Collages, Artist Trading Cards, click on "Photos", to read my Prose please check out the "Review" column, to read my descriptions of my creative friends, go to "Links" and open up.Go to videos to hear and see poetry performed. Question: Kianseng, one of the lovely things about your poetry is the imagery. I believe you look at life through surreal spectacles and that makes your poetry “spectacular.” I remember that one of your blogger friends once asked you, “What is an... more | Contacts | |

I have just found a long lost friend, Dr Jan Mohamed, I knew him when he was a medical student and we were together as House Officers in Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johore Bahru, Malaysia in 1972-1973. He is now in Ireland and still practising medcine, he is a Life Artist, he paints, he writes lovely poetry,he has a big collection of "kerises" and lives in a palace....here is a sample of his poetry, check him out in my contacts uner "janofeire"...
Over many a sodden path I`ve trod Many a wayside flower seen Now to meet up with This first blossom Of a long, forgotten Spring?
Cold shower from the Karakoram Only wetting my coat and hair World of Red Dust of Men Twirling like dervishes Out to blind me
But deep inside A lonely candle burns Unmoving It burns as it was made to burn Only giving light unknowingly |

At the last count, I think my poems have appeared in six ezines....but if I remember correctly, Lawrence, your poems have been posted in very many, or at least twice mine! Have a Good week ahead of you and if "stressed out by work" come up for durians......ya, taking the train will do just fine but expect delays! |
 |
i am okay, just insanely busy with work.
for this ezine, it's by invitation only, so maybe you have sent in a batch of poems and have forgotten about it. :)
I will keep your durian invite in mind. maybe one day i will take the KMT train to Kluang and demand the durians. :)
Cheers! |
 |
Thanks Lawrence and I did not even know about that......how do I get to the Review? And how are you? The Durian season is here again and in 2 weeks it will be at its peak, my invitation is still open, come up on a weekend, no need to stay the night if you dont want to...have lunch and then durian for tea and also "tao-poh" back some really bitter durian, my treat! Bring a couple of friends too, I am only 2 & 1/2 hours away from You! |
