Edward Estlin Cummings
(1894-1962) E.E. Cummings was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and educated at Harvard College. He is known for his technique of using lower case letters, shifting grammar and syntax - in other words, he abondonned the tradional techniques and structures in order to create his own hallmark. Thus, the spelling of his name e. e. cummings was done on purpose as well. Indeed, his poetic expressions became quite popular among the young readers - as his witty play on words reverberate throughout his work. In 1930, he wrote a book with no title. Other works include satirical ballet, entitled, Tom, Collected Poems, Tulips and Chimneys, Viva, No Thanks, 95 Poems, etc. "The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." - ee cummings Selected work ~ |
