CR Mittal

C.R. Mittal
Educator and Poet

CR Mittal has recently made Michigan his second home after having taught English language and literature, especially poetry, to students in a university of India. He worked on TS Eliot for his doctoral thesis. His early poetic sensibility was reared on the English Romantic poets. Subsequently, however, he struggled through the modernist symbolist mode and now prefers to read and write words that have some metaphoric appeal.

"Poetry is more philosophical and of higher value than history; for poetry tends to express the universal, history the particular."
