Iris Dan

Iris Dan

My name is Iris Dan. I am married, have a grown daughter, I live in Haifa, Israel, and work as a translator. Born in a German speaking Jewish family in the province of Bucovina, Romania, I studied Romance languages at the University of Bucharest before immigrating to Israel. I have always lived in a Babel Tower, and not only professionally. From my present one I can see the Mediterranean which, I keep hoping, will one day become what I believe it was meant to be: the sea of reason.

I have always made poems in my head, and even put them to paper, but it is only very recently that I have felt the need to publish them. A poem of mine is to appear in Magnapoets in December, and another in SubtleTea in January.

"How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being."
