Kimberly Ann Duffin

Kimberly Ann Duffin

K.A. Duffin began to write poetry in her late teens, increasing the frequency as time passed.  Poetry offered an outlet then, as it does now.

Life and nature are the greatest inspirations, be it through reflection, experiences or observation.  We are all witnesses to the world and its musings.  We are all shaped by our environment, experiences and perceptions; but we grow from what we share.  Sights, sounds and the subliminal find their way into words through poetry.

Having forgotten anything ever learned in school about poetry types or styles, the poem is written to suit the moment and the mood.  The author’s intent is not to accomplish anything, but rather to simply express ideas, emotions, dreams, dilemmas or experiences.  Poems are inherently about what is written, but the meaning changes based on the experiences and perceptions of the reader.

Also having a flair for photography, the poem ‘Becomes’ was combined with pictures and music in a video by friend and composer N. Markogiannakis.  The video can be viewed here.

K.A. Duffin currently lives and works in southwestern Ontario, Canada.
