Lady Camelot

[Pen name]

Autobiographical profile ~

This talented writer comes from a military background — she was born, and spent most of her early childhood years in Germany where her father was stationed. She began writing poetry at a young age with the influence of Shakespeare's dramatic play: "In fifth grade, I was honored to play the role of the evil Lady MacBeth. I had become quite good at character memorization that sometimes I could honestly "feel" each character's victories, sorrow and astonishment. Overall, I believe that Shakespeare had the most profound effect on my writing, as it was his "Macbeth" that prompted me to write my very first poem at age ten, "Words of Wisdom." "Macbeth, still resonates in my mind. One of the most famous lines of this melancholy play":

" ...They met me on a night of success. They had more than mortal knowledge, but when I wanted to question them further, they vanished. As I stood wrapped in wonder, a messenger from the King hailed me as Thane of Cawdor. This I write to thee, my Lady. Farewell...." As read aloud by Macbeth to his wife."

Besides William Shakespeare '.... her inspirations and drive came from the influence of the works of Robert Frost, and songwriter, Mac Davis.'

Robert Frost seems to top her list —
"His mystical poem, "The Road Not Taken," includes the metaphorical summization,"

"....I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

"Figuratively speaking, I and the many visionaries of tomorrow, are the travelers of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken."

"My poems written between 2000 to present have been an evolutionary process for me. Overcoming physical injury, paralysis and personal family crisis, I feel as if God has guided me through my personal journey of health obstacles, fulfillment and heightened awareness. Through the prose of spiritually-enlightened literature, I have discovered that the light of love is not so much in the being, but in the unselfish acts of one's giving. Thus, poetry has been God's gift to me; moreover, the gift of humanity to those who dare embrace it."

Lady Camelot is presently serving as the Public Relations' Director for Holistic Junction. com and is the published author of "Windows to the Soul."

She has had several poems published in esteemed anthologies, a freelance writer, State International Disability Coalition Representative, animal rights activist, artist, and more recently has had her literature inducted into the Ellis Island Library in tribute to the events of 911.
Currently, she resides in the Southeastern United States.
