John Clare

(1793-1864)
English poet of the countryside ~

Clare wrote about life and social change in general and yet, he was also a man of the country. He wrote a great deal about nature and agriculture and is better known as
'the poet of the natural world.'

[He was confined to a County Asylum until his death in 1864.]
