Though we've parted long
And there's little hope
Of our ever meeting again,
I’ll never bid you goodbye
But wait patiently for a time
Howsoever far it be
When we shall meet never to part.
For sure I do believe
This long stretch of night
Is bounded by an invisible horizon
Beyond which reigns a world
That doesn’t suffer mutation.
I have a faith that tells me
The spirit shall endure
The freakish dance of elements
And survive it all.
I believe I'm bound on a journey
Across plains bountiful and deserts bleak
And, as of now, I shall ever drink
Nectar from the innumerable streams
That cross my way
Till I’m drunk immortal with you.
And when I reach the end of my trail
I’d have learnt enough
To cast off the hollow shell
That kept me to a narrow sky.
That’ll be the end of my searching
And perhaps yours too.
