Rain, rain, bring a storm again, Water thrashing upon window pane, Lightning flash and thunderclap, No sound could be grander than that. Howling wind of stormy gale, Where trees will writhe and fences wail. Clouds that race, billow and burst, Floods to drown a planets thirst. Make torrents out of trickling streams, Sweep the streets completely clean. Bitter cold, rain and sleet, Let nothing enter that isn't bleak. Use beauty and anger of woman's scorn, The power and fury of the thunderstorm. Paint the ground white with hail, Despatch the air stagnant and stale. Leave us gasping and subdued, A reminder of drizzle too. Come again to lift our despair, And leave a storms fresh scent of air. Nigel L. Spark 4/11/1991
