The softness of your dark hair,
And the beauty of your eyes
Are as clear to me as ever before,
Since the time of you and I.
I dream of your arms around me,
And they always feel so strong.
I rest my head against your chest,
Thinking this is where I belong.
No one has known me like you.
There's no one that ever could.
We went farther than anyone imagined,
Beyond what they thought we would.
In this life you are my escape,
A world that is only my own.
I need you more than I can say,
And I'm afraid to let you go.
Hold me for awhile just today;
Make me forget all that is for now.
Take me back to yesterday,
Remembering the love we found.
It's only for a moment,
Just a few dreams that linger at night.
That's all I have to keep you here,
The only way to hold you tight.
My heart belongs to part of you;
Part of you belongs to me.
What we were still remains,
And that's the way it will always be.
