His poetry is, simply put, beautiful. It has an air of "Old-World" to it; poems we used to read in terms of metaphors used, images conveyed, and the language that relays so placidly the feelings and thoughts of the writer.
Nature seems to be a predominant poetic environment of CR Mittal. He walks through it, so to speak, so comfortably in his bid to depict his soul and mind as though he were an integral part of it, choosing any of its elements as best befits the theme he endeavours to write about.
I enjoyed in particular "The Token of a Word" and the metaphor of the rainbow with 'your sweet lines [that] run along my nerves and reclaims me.'
I liked the philosophical musing entailed in his "The Art of Life;" the beauty of "The Quest," which I felt emotionally compelled to read several times; and the thought-provoking "Death by Water," which, in such seemingly simple language and short description, leaves the reader wishing for more.
It was truly an intellectually intriguing and aesthetically appealing poetic journey.
