Fragrance adds dimensions
rarely thought of by our kind.
The very things we treasure most
are ones to which we're blind.
Have you ever smelled a buck in rut
when you were huntin' deer?
Or sniffed a lilac on the wind
as turkeys gobbled near?
How 'bout the smell of fresh tilled soil
as farmers plow their fields?
Then there's the smell of dryin' hay
as woodchucks are revealed.
The musty smell of fragrant woods
when huntin' in the fall -
This keeps me coming back each year,
to answer nature's call.
