Old eyes
Orange hair
Orange poncho
High heels

I wonder at her confident brightness
pushing her cart past naive naked girls
who strategically compete with overflowing carts
of frozen fast pizzas and fries

I reach for the newspapers that catch these nude faces scowling
in their mundane existence,
not fringed smugly in orange
reaching for the People, on their day off

Following the shopper down the red worn carpet
the door automatically opens farewell
and I leave her in the parking lot as she clicks down the pavement.
I shuffle off unmade
