When I was young, I lived against the grain.
I changed the rules to suit an angry me.
Back then they all thought I was quite insane.
Today I look around. Things changed, I see.
Thought who I was when I would go astray -
the drugs, the sex, and all those pointless lies!
When I reached 38 I said, "OK ...
I'm tired of the pain, the alibis."
I've faced about, once more, I see I'm late.
Now everyone indulges in the worst.
I've turned a leaf, I've even cleared the slate
and now they're lost. Why am I always first?
The road to living rightly; beat, forlorn!
And once again, I'm sorry I was born.

"Ordinary riches can be stolen; real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you."
