Intensities travel at sundry speeds.
Cramped intimately for a brief moment
They unite and move away in a clatter and a whop
To singular destinations.
They merge and converge,
Passing through vestibules
Slipping by, swelling and touching each other
With their own velocities, their own delirium.
Their fervor pass through caverns, enclosures, seasons,
Carrying their own focus,
Leaving some high and dry
While allowing others to reach their terminus.
They suffer the moment, and intensify regret
As they pass through new cordiality,
Aligning a temporary civility
Into a new constellation of deportment.
In a speeding vestibule you’re in god’s kingdom
Collapsing time,
Catching the effervescence of inner earnestness,
Insinuated postures.
Here’s a risqué thought,
There’s a disinterested glance, a smile, a playful question,
All within the profound silence of cluttering intensities
Capricious feelings.
On long distances a lullaby rocks you into a cozy world
Of accommodating familiarity;
A head on someone’s shoulder,
A recriminating look, then a moment of togetherness.
