The procedure to follow is this:

  1. Log in by clicking on the Member Login menu item on the right.
  2. Click on the Poets menu item in the top menu.
  3. Select your name in the alphabetic list of authors.
  4. At the bottom of the page is a link to “New”, select that link.
  5. Enter the title of your poem in the “Title” field.
  6. Select your Name in the “Category” field. (very important so the poem is entered under your name)
  7. Enter the text of your poem in the “Intro Text” field (the first large box).
  8. a)The text can be typed in directly or pasted in, preferably from a text editor.
    b) Assuming you have most likely used MS Word or something similar to compose your poem what you should do first is “Save As” plain text.
c)Then “Select All” (Ctrl-A) then copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) into the text box on PoeticPortal.
d)When you are done, save the submission by clicking on the Diskette icon at the top of the page.
    e) The other areas below the Intro Text box do not need to be used at this time.
    f) Your submission will be published by PoeticPortal staff.  This control step is necessary so new authors do not inadvertently enter an inappropriate format that can affect viewing of the website or enter content that does not follow the site guidelines.  At a later date, this step can be removed at the discretion of PoeticPortal so content may be published directly.
