Sunshine penetrates my inner core
Sea breeze heightens my awareness
Waves lap on rock solid base
Wooden boat putters into shore
Where will the winds of discovery pause

Wandering over the fallen leaves
Seated next to history renewed
Gazing into unseeing glances
Traffic slumbers and sleepwalks
Where will the winds of discovery pause

Pigeons flock to the feeding frenzy
Scattering upon disappointed aim
Converging upon the leaders choice
Waiting for the next signal of change
Where will the winds of discovery pause

Seated on a placid park bench
Soaking up the rays of today
Neither looking forward nor back
Letting gaze follow moment at will
Where will the winds of discovery pause

Contemplating the teaming of life
Patterns flowing together and apart
Opening to possibility and potential
Freedom reigns in soul, not body
Where will the winds of discovery pause

Before moving on to the next
gracious gust

"Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things."

~ T. S. Eliot
