Seeking the doorway to life
Tired of merely existing
Searching within the box repels
For nothing of substance is found
Everything there is for the show
Unearthing self requires excavation
Having the tools is only the beginning
Mustering the will is second to none
Upholding volition is a challenge
Ignoring criticism is a skill to be honed
Seeing the potential is the way
Unearthing self requires excavation
So many layers of denial
Disbelief heaped upon hearsay
Expectations are damning
Assumptions are damaging
Clear away the dross for clarity
Unearthing self requires excavation
One shovelful at a time
One bead of sweat from my mind
One aching muscle after another
The unearthing has begun
How far will it take me?
How far am I willing to go?
