Representing the Past Print E-mail

The past is a relationship of angles,
Perspectives and emotions,
With its own fragmentary histories and
Genuine philosophical biases
That allows us to converse secretly
Acting out our small narratives,
Finding a pattern, a design,
Where perhaps none exist.
We startle shadows from yesteryears,
Make them jump up and race through
Achievement, authority and tradition,
A fortiori, and then confront them at a corner,
Boldly and justly as living entities
Sustaining a relationship,
Extending the context into the present,
Finding a continuity to act and endure.
