I eat in the morning as well as at night.
And now that I notice more weight in my thighs,
I really wish cookies were healthy for me,
I know I’ve been eating too many chips.
I indulge for an instant, so good to the taste,
I know I don’t need to eat candy to survive;
As I think about all of these foods I consume,
The beverages I drink make the calories mount.
For a moment of pleasure these pounds that I gain,
That’s not good for me and doesn’t benefit my soul.
I want to look better and need to feel good.
I’ll take better care of this body I’ve been given.
I must remember what’s really important to me
I’ll eat veggies and fruit, some nuts and grain.
I’ll be wise about all that I put on my plate.
I’ll make a commitment to go to the gym.
I’ll have stamina and energy as these pounds depart.
I’ll think about eating healthy whenever I dine. © Arlene Spanos |
