I eat in the morning as well as at night.
Some foods aren’t good for me, some are alright.

And now that I notice more weight in my thighs,
I have to admit that I don’t like my size.

I really wish cookies were healthy for me,
And candy, French fries, butter and cheese.

I know I’ve been eating too many chips.
Plus the ice cream and pie and fattening dips.

I indulge for an instant, so good to the taste,
But I don’t think its worth what it does to my waist.

I know I don’t need to eat candy to survive;
But why does eating two pounds make me gain five?

As I think about all of these foods I consume,
They’re fun to eat now but they make my butt bloom.

The beverages I drink make the calories mount.
It would be much better if those didn’t count.

For a moment of pleasure these pounds that I gain,
They make me so puffy and cause me such pain.

That’s not good for me and doesn’t benefit my soul.
I need to rethink this matter and set a new goal.

I want to look better and need to feel good.
I’ll change my perspective and eat what I should.

I’ll take better care of this body I’ve been given.
It’s the vessel God gave me for this life I am livin’.

I must remember what’s really important to me
No more gobbling, munching and eating mindlessly.

I’ll eat veggies and fruit, some nuts and grain.
They’ll nourish my body as well as my brain.

I’ll be wise about all that I put on my plate.
Before I know it, I’ll be at the right weight.

I’ll make a commitment to go to the gym.
I’ll work really hard to become fit and trim.

I’ll have stamina and energy as these pounds depart.
This will strengthen my body and be good for my heart.

I’ll think about eating healthy whenever I dine.
And I vow to stick to it . . . at least most of the time.
