If I had a box to keep all of my wishes in,
I wouldn't be trying to tell you how I feel with this pen.
If somehow I could just show you my soul,
But fear keeps my from revealing that empty hole.
If I had a bottle that held all of my tears,
You could see how a person can change over the years.
If there was a room that held all the time in there,
You could see all of the times I pretended not to care.
If I could hold my dreams in the palms of my hands,
You could see my fantasies of distant lands.
If I had eyes that would dazzle and a smile that would shine,
Maybe I wouldn't have to worry about you being mine.
If I had nerves that were made of steel,
I wouldn't be afraid to tell you how I feel.
If I had a spirit that could take rejection,
Maybe I wouldn't be in this prediction.
If I had a heart that could not love...
