As I sit with cluttered thoughts in my mind,
I ponder lives of loves left behind,
But through the muck, the brightest of lights shines,
And the dust settles on days of our times.
It's so hard to let go of your perfect dream,
To simply part with what the road may bring.
To hear a voice and so quickly turn around
Only to find crushed hopes of you abound.
And as I was told, I set you free,
Only to find you didn't return to me.
Again I long for your soothing touch
And replay the words I love so much.
I recall the luminescence of your smile,
A sight I held only for a small while.
I can still see the virtue in your eyes,
And a soul as captivating as God's blue skies.
I can still hear the sweetest voice singing in my ear,
And the most majestic man holding me near.
I can still feel the wind, as docile as him,
And I open my eyes to find the light go dim.
