When my time is over
and my huntin' days are done,
Lord, take me one more time
where nature and I were one.

Take me to the woods where
the game runs wild and free.
I'd like to sit just one more time
up in that ol' oak tree.

And hear the owls 'fore daybreak,
then crows throughout the day.
And I could even tolerate
an occasional blue jay.

If you don't mind, just one more time?
To the stand called number seven.
I guess you could say it's on the way.
Lord, it's just this side o' heaven.
