Oh, how I'd like to touch the stars
up in the midnight sky
To feel the stardust 'pon my hands
light years — thru the many miles

Aspiring to boundless heights
'cross the universal plain
Transporting love and energy
As I envision new terrain

Flooding the gates of a portal
of time and space between
On the brink of stellular constellations
of fundamental dreams

Never stopping to encounter
a past of restless tides
Only contemplating a new reaction
to pleasant memories of the mind

Perhaps I'd step aside
to merely grasp the screen
of a movie in the making
or maybe just a dream

Life is but a passing mirage
like the sands that fall beneath
the hourglass of time and space
as mysterious as the sea

Halt only to enjoy the moment
of a drifting paradox
And find your way to the apex ~
life and time's mortal clock.

"Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus."

~ Ralph W. Emerson
