The Field of Memories Print E-mail

I recall an open field where I used to play
Where dandelions grew
Where tall grass danced in the gentle breeze
and the soil was rich with dew
It wasn't rather large, quite small, I may say
But the field was filled with memories
of a childhood far away
I used to watch the butterflies
and pick wild poppies growing there
And upon a beaten path
Sunlight's rays sparkled there
I used to run and laugh
in the small world which I once knew
I used to chase my dreams
I was the miracle of youth
Now I smile in spite a lonesome day
As I tread a beaten path
I recall a field where I used to play
to unfold the sunlight of my past
