fire rises past the water so deep
a pool of blood gathers under my feet
meaningless crime surrounds the living
a ring of hope searches for the giving
people not caring one way or the other
trying to act like someones dead mother
walking down the streets at night
taking a chance on a scary sight
murder committed every day
kidnapping among those who play
cant we look past the good and bad
and realize were making each other sad
that might only be a dream of mine
and many others who want to shine
past the rueful acts of those
in world right under their nose
feeling anger surrounds an illusion
to lock away the bad and end the confusion
then there are the ones which run
who cant deal with the bad things they've done
death is not an answer to thee
it doesnt take away the pain and misery
it only makes things worse
like some evil witches curse
maybe some do not feel guilt or sorrow
like living each day without a tomorrow
and the relatives of those who passed on
living with the haunting memory of those gone
is such a sadness not all of us feel
especially the ones who brutally kill
or hurt one another without the need
to be angry and full of greed
maybe in a whole new place
we'll treat each other as an equal race
where no violence appears
and people wash away their fears
and the tears are only of joy and relief
when the people cry, they feel no grief
hopefully someday we'll be in that land
where oceans still flow in and out of the sand
except the bad things will run away
and leave the dead to only pray
for the living to come and stay
in this place called heaven
