You just don't get it, I said to them,
As we sat around the tree.
It's not about going through life alone,
It's about going through life with ME.

I don't need a wife and kids,
A suburban house and dog,
I don't need to " be with friends,
to burn the Yuletide Log".

I live alone, I have my space,
I'm happy as can be.
If I celebrate at all,
I'm going to celebrate ME.

I enjoy my solitude,
And doing my own thing.
I don't have to answer my phone,
So I just let it ring.

I can pick and choose the time,
When I want to be with friends.
But I always go home alone,
That's how my evening ends.

This life I chose, I do enjoy,
It's simple as can be.
I celebrate all good things in life,
But mostly I celebrate ME.

- Marv Hardin
